The Pereiaslav National Historical and Ethnographic Reserve alone has gathered many museums on different themes. It is one of the largest complexes of its kind in the country: the collection of 25 museums includes various exhibits that fully reflect the history of the Ukrainian people and introduce the everyday life of villagers. Interestingly, all the exhibitions are housed in architectural monuments.

In the east of Kyiv Oblast lies the town of Pereiaslav-Khmelnytskyi, now called simply Pereiaslav. Pereiaslav is one of the oldest towns in Ukraine, first mentioned in written sources in 907. A great number of museums are concentrated here, introducing various sides of Ukrainians’ life and culture.
