TvBoy in Kyiv Oblast: A Symbol of Peace in the Colours of Freedom
The Italian artist from Palermo Salvatore Benintende is known by the pseudonym TvBoy. He is famous for the active civic stance in his works.
After Russia began its full-scale war against Ukraine, Benintende joined the voices of other world-famous cultural figures calling for the aggression to stop. Thus, in spring 2022 TvBoy created a number of themed works in Europe in support of Ukraine.
And in January 2023 he came in person to the Bucha and Irpin communities to support local residents and Ukraine with his works. He depicted children who do not stand aside from the war as a symbol of hope and of the struggle for a bright future.
Street art continues to spread across Kyiv Oblast, thus creating modern cultural heritage sites. They attract attention and remind us of the price of war. And to those who lived through the terrible days of occupation, they say that the whole civilised world supports them, giving hope for a bright and peaceful future.
