Safety during Easter holidays and days of remembrance

Easter holidays and days of remembrance in the Kyiv Region must be held with strict observance of safety measures, given the increased risk of enemy attacks.
Recall that on 5 April (Gregorian calendar) and 12 April 2026 (New Julian calendar), believers of Christian Churches will celebrate Easter (Pascha). A week after that, the days of remembrance traditionally begin.
In view of the legal regime of martial law and in order to prevent threats to people’s lives and health, it is recommended to limit mass events in the Kyiv Region. This applies in particular to themed events, concerts, performances by professional and amateur groups, and fairs, including charity ones.
The curfew on Easter night will remain unchanged and will last from 00:00 to 05:00. During this period, movement on the streets is prohibited, so churches can be visited only after it ends.
In this regard, it is recommended to hold night services in the form of online broadcasts. In addition, on 11 and 12 April 2026, during the curfew, only a limited number of clergy — no more than 10 people — are allowed in churches.
Organisers of religious events bear personal responsibility for the safety of believers both on church grounds and in adjacent areas.
Religious organisations are advised to draw up in advance schedules for services and the blessing of Easter baskets in order to avoid crowds of people.
During services, safety requirements must be strictly observed if the “Air raid alert” signal is announced. Information signs showing the location of civil protection shelters must also be provided.
