Where to go during the may holidays? Routes of Kyiv region

May Holidays are coming? The Department of Tourism of Kyiv Oblast State Administration has prepared interesting routes and locations in Kyiv region that are worth visiting.

Arboretum Oleksandriia

Let’s begin with the south of Kyiv Region, and here we propose you to visit Arboretum Oleksandriia. Spring is one of the best seasons for walks in parks. Be sure to book a tour to the arboretum and you will learn a lot of interesting things. It can be done at the official website. The park is open from 8:00 to 19:00 seven days a week.

Park Ancient Kyiv

Let’s move ahead! Ancient Kyiv, the capital of Kyivan Rus, is inviting you to spend May Holidays there. Monumental wooden architecture covering an area of over 20 hectares, a fascinating atmosphere and great mood await every day from 10:00 a.m. Ancient Kyiv is situated within a 45-minutes drive from Kyiv, in the village of Kopachiv, Obukhiv raion. On the official website, you can learn how to get to the park.

Dobropark Park

We move farther west and propose you to visit Dobropark situated in the village of Motyzhyn in Makariv community. Tulips are expected to bloom on May 5–7! From May 1, the park’s opening day, a bus will make trips from Zhytomyrska metro station to Dobropark.

Shuttle bus stop is near metro station Zhytomyrska. A one-way ticket costs UAH 30.

Mezhyhiria

We advise that you visit Mezhyhiria in the north of Kyiv oblast. In the night of May 2, there is an opportunity to get on a night tour “Mystical Mezhyhiria”, and you will get into the underground caves of the Mezhyhiria Church and attend the Easter service. The tour will start at 22:00 at the entrance to Mezhyhiria residence.

Pereiaslav National Historical and Ethnographic Reserve

In the east, you will find an open-air museum in Pereiaslav National Historical and Ethnographic Reserve with the original locations for photography. Museum staff decorated them with Easter eggs.

The museum’s open hours during the holidays are as follows:

1 May (Saturday): museum is open till 16:00 as a park zone;
2 May (Sunday): closed;
3 May (Monday) museum is open from 9:00 till 17:00 for walks through the area without guides, and using only the services of audio guides.
