About

The museum was created on the initiative of a village resident, history teacher Andrii Kulinskyi. The first exhibition of the exhibits he collected was displayed in the village House of Culture from the 1950s. However, in 1986, on the initiative of the district’s residents, the old school building was renovated specially for the museum, and the institution still works there today.

The museum’s exhibition reflects the life of peasants (household items) of the 19th and early 20th centuries, the revolutionary events, the period of collectivisation, the Holodomor of 1932-1933, and the history of education and medicine. A prominent place in the exhibition belongs to the Hall of Fame, which collects the biographies of villagers who made its history and took an active part in its recovery after the Second World War and up to the present day. The exhibition is actively being supplemented with photographs and personal belongings of ATO and JFO participants, combatants and Heroes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The hall “The Distant Past of Our Land” presents historical materials about the village of Kapustyntsi and household items of peasants from the end of the 19th century. This room also has an archaeological corner with unique finds from the Late Palaeolithic and information about the excavations of the dwelling of primitive people at the Dobranychivka Site, located not far from the village.
