About

The Baryshivka Museum of Local History is dedicated to preserving and showcasing the history, culture and traditions of the Baryshivka community.

The museum’s exhibition halls tell about:

– archaeological finds and the first settlements in the area;

– the Cossack era and the history of the Baryshivka region in the 17th–19th centuries;

– the development of crafts, agriculture and the daily life of the local population;

– events of the 20th century, including the period of wars, the Holodomor and the restoration of Ukraine’s independence;

– “living histories” about the occupation of the Baryshivka community during the Ukrainian-Russian war.

The exhibits include old documents, photographs, household items, elements of folk costume, embroidery samples, handicrafts, military relics and personal belongings of distinguished fellow countrymen. Visitors can learn about ethnography, daily life, crafts and important events that shaped the development of the region. The museum also organises temporary exhibitions, lectures and educational programmes for different age groups.
