Solovyukha Mountain

Solovyukha Mountain is a picturesque natural landmark near the village of Klochky in the Kyiv region, rising above the valley of the Ros River. From its peak, visitors are treated to breathtaking panoramic views that attract travelers and photographers year-round.

The mountain is steeped in legend. According to local folklore, a Cossack salt trader named Solovey broke his wagon here during a journey and decided to settle in the area. This, they say, is how the village of Klochky, Solovyukha Mountain, and Soloviyna Street—which leads straight to the summit—came to be.

But the mountain also has a mysterious side. Its peak is always covered in a layer of fine black ash that neither rain nor wind can remove. Locals also speak of frequent UFO sightings over the Ros Valley. Is it due to a unique geomagnetic field or simply a beautiful legend? No one can say for sure.
