The Church of St Nicholas the Wonderworker is the oldest wooden place of worship, built with the villagers’ funds in 1863. The church is dedicated to St Nicholas the Wonderworker, one of the most revered saints in the Christian world. It is a beautiful blue building standing in a picturesque area near the bank of the small Ilta River. The church is built in the traditions of Ukrainian sacred architecture, with the characteristic features of village churches of the Kyiv region. The interior is decorated with an iconostasis and church paintings that reflect the canons of Orthodox art. Experts believe that in the 18th century a predecessor stood on the site of the church, and the present one was created by rebuilding the old structure.
