The Church of the Protection of the Mother of God – was built in 1905. It belongs to the tradition of wooden sacred architecture of the Kyiv region and is considered one of the largest wooden churches in the region. The building stands out for its simple forms, harmonious proportions and characteristic domes, which give the church an expressive silhouette. During the 20th century the church, like many Ukrainian churches, lived through difficult times. In the Soviet period religious life was restricted, but the local community preserved the shrine. With the restoration of Ukraine’s independence the church again became the centre of the village’s spiritual life. Today the Church of the Protection is an active Orthodox church where services, religious holidays and traditional community events are held.
