About the place

Not far from the village of Khodosivka, hidden among forested hills, lies the largest natural cave in the Kyiv region — the Geonaut Cave. Though its length is only about 60 meters, this place has long been a magnet for speleologists, travelers, and seekers of mystical adventures.

Visitors to the cave often describe strange sensations that accompany their time inside: the feeling of time disappears, spatial perception shifts, and sometimes even one's mood changes. The walls are adorned with bas-reliefs and mysterious drawings — one in particular stands out: a face that resembles an alien. Whether it is a natural formation or the work of ancient inhabitants remains unknown.

Many legends are tied to the cave. One tells of a speleologist who died under mysterious circumstances after visiting it. Others speak of people who experienced odd changes in behavior or well-being after being inside the Geonaut. Some researchers believe that monks may have once taken refuge here — suggested by man-made elements in the cave’s structure — although there is no archaeological evidence to confirm this.

Today, the Geonaut is a place of power, where nature and the unknown intertwine. Visiting the cave is allowed, but only at your own risk. Be sure to bring a flashlight, wear appropriate waterproof footwear, and exercise caution — especially in rainy weather, as the clay formations can become unstable.
