A landmark event at the History Museum of the Vyshhorod Historical and Cultural Reserve (Kyiv Oblast communal institution) – the opening of the renewed exhibition “Ancient Vyshhorod”
The exhibition “Ancient Vyshhorod” presents to visitors:
- A restored model of the hillfort of chronicle Vyshhorod (9th–13th centuries) – a valuable archaeological monument of national significance, brought to life in detail.
- A detailed 3D reconstruction of the majestic Church of Borys and Hlib (11th–12th centuries), allowing you to imagine its grandeur in times past.
- Unique archive materials of the Vyshhorod archaeological expedition of 1935–37 from the collections of the Institute of Archaeology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, which reveal little-known pages of history.
- Sketches of Kyivan Rus clothing by the talented artist and researcher Zinaida Vasina. In artistic images the scholar has recreated the evolution of clothing, the characteristic features of its cut, finishing and decoration.
- Exquisite costumes from the historical documentary film “Yaroslav the Wise — Father-in-law of Europe” by the designer, author of the project “Women of the Princely Era” Kateryna Potlova.
The project “Ancient Vyshhorod” is not just a display of historical artefacts but a deep immersion in the connection of generations and an awareness of the value of cultural heritage, which must be preserved and passed on to future generations.
