About

An archaeological site, a settlement of the Late Palaeolithic, located on the territory of the village of Dobranichivka in the Yahotyn district of the Kyiv region, on the left bank of the Supii River (a tributary of the Dnipro).
Four household complexes have been uncovered, consisting of permanent round dwellings made of mammoth bones, of the type of the tents of the peoples of Russia’s North, storage pits, inner and outer hearths and production centres. The complex of flint tools and rock crystal items was characterised by angle and side burins, end scrapers of shortened proportions and their double specimens, digging and axe-shaped tools, borers, as well as various microliths with a blunted edge – lanceolate points, rectangles and so on. The bone tools are represented by borers and hammers made of reindeer antler, the artistic finds by a unique stylised female figurine made of Middle Dnipro amber, and the faunal remains by the bones of mammoth and reindeer, as well as bison, musk ox, bear, wolf, fox, hare and other animals.
