What does the program include?
A guided tour led by the winemaker himself
You will be personally welcomed by Ihor Petrenko, the founder and winemaker at Biologist. Ihor brings over 25 years of international experience in the wine industry, along with 10 years of crafting his own wines here in Ukraine. He will guide you through the winery and share his personal vision and philosophy on winemaking.
A stroll through the vineyards
The Biologist vineyards are terraced plantings located in the Kyrykove tract—one of the most picturesque spots in the Kyiv region. Unique grape varieties grow here, already yielding harvests that go into our “Pershotvir” (Original Creation) wine series. During the tour, you’ll have the chance to take in the scenery and capture some stunning photos.
The world of natural and biodynamic winemaking
We will explore the concepts of organic, natural, and biodynamic winemaking. Ihor will explain what “natural wine” really is, what makes orange wines so special, and why biodynamic winemakers bury cow horns—all explained in simple terms, accompanied by real-world examples and a tasting. Enjoy a curated lunch or dinner paired with wine, featuring meat and seafood cooked in a wood-fired oven, seasonal vegetables, fruits, and artisanal cheeses—all carefully selected to complement the wines you have just tasted.
