The present church is located in the old building of the monastery refectory. The monastery complex in the village of Hatne was a branch of the Pustynno-Nikolsky (Pustynno-Mykilsky) Monastery – the second largest and most significant Kyiv monastery after the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. A branch of St Volodymyr’s Cathedral was located on the territory of the complex (until 1938). The branch’s buildings were demolished in the years of “militant atheism”; in Soviet times the building of the present church housed a club.
