Protasiv Yar stretches along the eastern slope of Batiyeva Hill, following the street and descent of the same name. These routes, which were formerly known as Stepan Razin Street and Descent, are now known as Mykola Amosov Street and continue to serve as important transport arteries. Protasiv Yar Street earned the popular name of the Military-Georgian Road due to its historical role as a narrow, winding path that traversed through the forest, connecting the central part of the city with Solomjanka. This route was the shortest but practically lacked public transportation.
At the lower end of the ravine, it merges with the Lybid River Valley, where the eponymous railway platform is located. This area not only holds historical significance but also serves as a natural retreat for walks and relaxation, captivating visitors with its beauty and tranquility.
