About the place

The Ascension Monastery on Skovoroda Street in Pereiaslav began to take shape in the late 17th century with the construction of the Ascension Cathedral, described by Taras Shevchenko as a blend of Baroque and Byzantine styles. Currently, the cathedral is under restoration and houses the "Battle for the Dnipro" museum-diorama.
