Kindergarten in Pripyat

After the disaster, thousands of residents of the surrounding villages were evacuated. Most of their houses were destroyed and buried in burial grounds, but in the village of Kopachi the kindergarten building survived. The toys and children’s furniture remained there, right beside the ominous “radiation” sign.
