Kyrylo Stetsenko was a talented Ukrainian composer, conductor, choirmaster, educator, music critic as well as public activist. He has organized over 30 choral groups and is considered to be the founder of Ukrainian national sacred music.
A themed room, dedicated to Kyrylo Stetsenko’s life and work, was created in the Vepryk Community Centre back in 1969. In 1982, on the 100th anniversary of the musician’s birth, the village house where he lived in 1920–1922, was restored to host his memorial museum.
The rooms reproduce interiors of the time:
Apart from those, there are several halls, whose expositions contain photos and documents telling about different periods of the composer’s life and creative work, publications of his musical heritage, rare sheet music editions, books about him by famous writers and art experts.
A separate room contains a display that acquaints the visitors with life and creative work of the museum’s organizer Volodymyr Kosovskyi, poet, community activist and local paramedic.
