About

The pearl of Vyshhorod – the Kyiv Reservoir embankment!

Believe us, you won’t walk past, and you won’t leave without impressions!

Coming here, people find themselves as if at a cross-section of several eras: on one side, man-made modernity, and on the other, ancient hills that hide the secrets of princely times.

At the very beginning of the embankment you will see a 1968 sculpture in the shape of a seagull, pointing the way to the HPP (hydroelectric power plant) and the PSPP (pumped-storage power plant). Symbolically, the embankment is adorned by an avenue of incredible beauty named after the patriarch of Ukrainian energy and Honorary Citizen of Vyshhorod, Semen Potashnyk.

The coastal slopes of the Vyshhorod hill and the preserved sections of the Dnipro floodplain adjacent to them have great natural and historical value. It is no accident that the landscape of the chronicle-era Vyshhorod is included in the State Register of Immovable Monuments of Ukraine, because in Ukraine there are not many places that remain the same as they were in princely times.

The Kyiv Reservoir is popularly called the Kyiv Sea, and Vyshhorod the city on the sea. And rightly so – the local views, seagulls and sound of the waves truly do not yield to natural seas. By the way, an international Formula 1 on water was once held here, and there is a real lighthouse.

In general, the embankment is a permanent venue for various entertainment and sports events.

And on the shores of the Kyiv Sea you can see unreally beautiful sunsets.
