WINEIDEA Winery
It was founded in 2013 by Pavlo Makohon and Artem Taran in the village of Yasnohorodka, Kyiv Oblast.
That year an ostrich farm was opened here and vineyards were planted. This territory is ideally suited to white grape varieties. On almost 2 hectares grow Citronny Magaracha, Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling, and a Johanniter hybrid was recently planted too. In addition, for red wine production, grapes are purchased in Odesa Oblast with regular control of the growing and harvesting process. Every year WINEIDEA produces about 15 tonnes of wine. That is approximately 22,000 bottles.
The winery is located on the territory of a whole complex covering 21 hectares. During the tour you can see an exhibition of various equipment used in wine production, learn facts from the history of oenology and about the processes of making wine, visit the wine library, and taste WINEIDEA craft wines with snacks made from local products: farm cheeses, snails, and dishes made from ostrich meat and eggs.
There is also a petting zoo on the grounds.
Every year WINEIDEA holds the “Family Winemaker” festival. Every weekend in September table grape varieties are brought to the winery, which guests can both eat and press, creating their own bottle of wine; there are competitions and tastings, and live music plays.
