Dobropark is a landscape park project of the Dobrutsky family.
Ihor and Olena Dobrutsky’s love of plants appeared a very long time ago, when the family decided to plant the then empty plot next to their house with a wide variety of trees, shrubs and flowers.
The couple planted their favourite collections of plants: hydrangeas, magnolias, cherry blossoms, lilacs, several varieties of birch and conifers, more than 20,000 tulips and more. Over time these collections were supplemented with unique varieties that the couple brought back from trips to the world-famous gardens of England, France, Holland and Belgium.
Often, by trial and error, something took root and something did not, but in any case it added experience and nurtured their great dream. There got to be so many plants and so little space that the couple decided to find a location where all their ideas could be realised. After this bold decision, a search for territory began that lasted more than two years…
In the end the location was found! Picturesque expanses, boundless sky, as far as possible from buildings and yet close to Kyiv. The grandeur and diversity of landscape forms, as on a model of Ukraine – the territory combines plains, meadows and hills. A quietly flowing river that feeds the surrounding lakes. This is a place where plants, water, earth and sky are in maximum symbiosis and balance.
The location with incredible energy immediately won the Dobrutsky family’s heart. After several visits to the location, its name appeared – DOBROPARK.
Dobropark welcomed its first visitors in 2020 and gave them 1,270,000 tulips, a lavender meadow, a boxwood valley, a garden of petunias and fields of liatris. The founders’ goal for the next 5 years is to turn Dobropark into the best park in Ukraine.
