Kyrylo Rozumovskyi, the former owner of the estate in Yahotyn, laid out a wonderful park here that was talked about throughout the Russian Empire.
After Kyrylo Rozumovskyi’s death his estate passed by inheritance to his son – the diplomat and, for a time, Minister of Education, Oleksii Rozumovskyi. Oleksii was fond of botany and assembled a unique collection of plants; it is to him that Yahotyn Park owes its rarest specimens. He also brought in the professional gardener Peltz.
The modern Yahotyn Park, though not as well kept as under the hetman, is quite well maintained and has not turned into thickets. In addition, a large number of Yahotyn’s landmarks are located in Yahotyn Park, so it will be pleasant for a traveller to wander in it and discover something new.
